Happy Birthday, DAAA Haus Ragusa!

DAAA Haus, an international design studio founded in Malta in 2009 by Keith Pillow, is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its Ragusa office this year, together with partners Daniele Migliorisi, Mario Castello and Giorgio Occhipinti and the entire staff.

After his first few years of activity in Malta, Keith Pillow moved to Italy for work, seeking the countryside that Malta lacks. The closest place was Sicily, where he purchased a small plot of land in Noto. He realized that he needed local knowledge and expertise and was introduced to architects Daniele Migliorisi and Mario Castello and, later, Giorgio Occhipinti. A beautiful friendship was born, as well as a lasting working relationship. With the opening of the Ragusa office, the adventure of DAAA Haus Italia began, first in Sicily and then in Milan eight years ago.

Today, the firm consists of over 40 international professionals in four locations: Malta, Milan, Ragusa and Mumbai. Over the past ten years, DAAA Haus Italia has worked on a series of architectural and interior design projects, including residential, commercial and public buildings. These include Le Vele in Modica, a state-of-the-art eco-sustainable apartment building; the twin villas in Ragusa, the restoration of the San Giorgio Palace, a boutique hotel in a historic building in Ragusa Ibla, and the small building by Anthea Preziosi in the historic centre of Ragusa.

Although very different from each other, these projects share the same DNA: they all reflect DAAA Haus’s design philosophy, which is to create interactive experiences and emotional storytelling.
Over the next ten years, DAAA Haus aims to grow into a talent laboratory, a place where innovation and passion meet, where professionals can truly realize their most ambitious projects.
