The project involved the construction of a new building and the renovation of the adjacent existing fabric, to create a single complex that can respond to the various needs of the Onlus Cooperative For di Loto, which operates in the social field with socio-health activities for people with frailty and disabilities.
The most important functional aspect concerned the need to integrate the specific functions by creating a sense of safety, accessibility, and belonging.
The main elements of the project derive from the study of the court typology and were determined by the conformation and the accessibility of the lot.
All this has generated, on a planimetric level, an ‘L’ shaped agricultural courtyard.
The new volume is configured as a parallelepiped in which the image of a house with a gable roof is reproduced in negative by excavating the volume itself.
Fior di Loto means a place where “Home” became “Community”, in a new perspective of sharing and welcoming towards the most disadvantaged.
