Domino is the new 2025 proposal from Vismaravetro, a project by Castiglia Associati that translates the company’s research into increasingly essential, modular systems capable of interacting with architecture into a contemporary form. Designed for those who want rigorous but flexible solutions, this system was created with the aim of simplifying design complexity without compromising on the technical quality and formal care that have always distinguished the brand. Just four elements generate a multitude of configurations, offering designers a free, intelligent and precise tool with which to define the bathroom space according to new logic.
The evolution towards wall systems is a natural step for Vismaravetro. The company, historically a leader in the production of shower enclosures, has gained in-depth knowledge of glass, aluminium and opening and closing mechanisms over the years. This experience has given rise to the desire to go beyond the logic of the isolated technical product and offer solutions that not only delimit a space but also interpret and transform it. The needs of contemporary design — both residential and contract — require cross-cutting, integrated systems that can be adapted to bedrooms, wellness areas, suites and hybrid spaces. Domino responds to this demand with an approach that combines formal consistency, compositional freedom and rigorous execution.
The arrival of Domino is part of the journey that began with Suite and Voile, three visions born from different needs but united by Vismaravetro’s typical approach: essentiality, precision and a measured aesthetic that transforms transparency into design material. While Suite redefined the concept of the bathroom wall and Voile introduced new internal volumes, Domino takes this research to an extreme synthesis thanks to its compact structure, designed to be powerful in its simplicity.
The system offers two types of opening, hinged and pivoting, designed to respond precisely to different usage requirements. The former allow traditional inward or outward opening, while the latter, with an off-centre pivot, allow for a wider passage even in large configurations. Domino can be installed on the ceiling or in a free-standing mode, a solution that creates a visual gap between the structure and the ceiling, lightening the overall impact and emphasising the contemporary nature of the design. The variety of finishes, both for the glass and the aluminium profiles, further reinforces its ability to dialogue with different design languages.
The choice of name harks back to the company’s history: Domino was a shower enclosure launched in 1994. Reviving it today does not mean looking to the past, but rather reaffirming a design principle that remains central to Vismaravetro’s philosophy: few elements, multiple combinations. A synthesis that becomes strength and, above all, a method for interpreting contemporary living.
