Design meets history: Pedrali furnishes La Monastica

La Monastica Resort & spa represents the perfect combination of elegance and tradition: amidst the enchanting hills of Buggiano Castello, between Lucca and Pistoia, this exclusive 5-star boutique hotel blends historic charm with contemporary luxury.
The heart of the resort is the former Monastery of Santa Scolastica, carefully restored to preserve its original charm and enriched with modern elements that enhance its historical beauty. Each room tells a story and takes guests on a journey through time, with bright, refined spaces that combine past and present in perfect harmony.

The renovation project, begun in 2005, has enhanced the local historical and cultural heritage, involving not only the ancient monastery complex, but also the public areas and the paths along the village’s northern walls. In this project, Pedrali, thanks to its furniture of timeless design and elegance, contributed to the creation of a harmonious balance between ancient and modern.

In the reception area, the Ester armchair, in the office version, and the Buddy collection welcome guests with elegance and comfort. Designed by Patrick Jouin, Ester combines aesthetics and functionality in the version with its yellow upholstered leather shell and central four-spoke base. The Buddy poufs by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, with their contrast between full volumes and lightness of structure, complete the environment with a contemporary style.

Within the resort, the Devoti Restaurant celebrates traditional Tuscan cuisine in an ambience that recalls the spirituality of the past. The combination of historic architecture and refined furnishings transforms each meal into a moment to be enjoyed calmly and consciously. The menu, inspired by seasonality, emphasises local flavours with a touch of creativity.
The former Church of St. Scholastica, restored with great refinement, creates a fascinating atmosphere that gives a feeling of spaciousness thanks to the width of the nave. Sebastian Herkner’s Blume tables and Jazz chairs with armrests, selected in the terracotta shade, as well as Patrick Norguet’s Vic stools, with their elegant and minimalist design, find their place in this evocative setting.
The ‘Loggiato’, overlooking the Valdinievole, is the ideal place for an aperitif with a spectacular view of the most complete realx. The Lamorisse armchairs by CMP Design, with their aluminium frame and enveloping cushions, offer maximum comfort for relaxing moments in the open air. In a more intimate room, warmed by an antique fireplace, are the Anemos table by Pio & Tito Toso with its sinuously shaped aluminium base and Jazz chairs with armrests, also in terracotta colour.

The bar corner is furnished with the Ester stools by Patrick Jouin, characterised by their soft shapes and aluminium details, chosen in aviation blue and burgundy. Here you will also find Blume chairs and lounges combined with tables from the same collection, which with their soft and harmonious design guarantee comfort and style.
The ‘Cantina’, an intimate and modern ambience, welcomes guests with Fox armchairs by Patrick Norguet, combined with Arki-Table tables and Arki-Bench benches. The combination of materials and contrasting geometric lines lend a touch of elegance and versatility, making the space perfect for exclusive tastings.
In an elevated room with a cross-vaulted ceiling, embellished with cobalt blue hues, Jazz chairs with armrests in the same refined colouring create a harmonious and cosy atmosphere. The Blume plinths, with their antique brass-coloured column, lend a timeless elegance, completing the ambience with a touch of exclusivity.
The Monastica Resort & Spa represents a perfect balance of history, design and hospitality, where every detail contributes to an unforgettable experience. Thanks to Pedrali’s furnishings, the charm of the past blends with contemporary comfort, providing guests with a stay marked by comfort and authentic beauty.
