Design Hub in Milan by RAK Ceramics: a centre of excellence for the design world

On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2025, RAK Ceramics inaugurated its new Design Hub in via Borgogna 8, in the beating heart of the international capital of design. The Emirati group, the world’s fourth largest player in the ceramics sector, thus strengthens its presence in Europe with a strategic investment of over one million euros and a 400 square metre exhibition space designed by the architecture studio MMA Projects.

The new Milanese Hub – the fourth globally after Dubai, London and Frankfurt – is conceived as an experiential centre, designed to inspire architects, interior designers and contractors through integrated and transversal solutions ranging from porcelain stoneware surfaces to sanitary ware, from bathroom furnishings to taps and fittings to tableware. The declared objective is ambitious but clear: to become the new reference point for design professionals, offering complete and customisable support, anywhere in the world.

The RAK Ceramics Design Hub is an exceptional showcase for all the group’s brands. Alongside the RAK Ceramics brand – synonymous with research, innovation and one of the widest product portfolios in the sector – are Elie Saab, which signs high-end surface and bathroom collections, the German brand Kludi, specialising in taps and fittings with an essential and functional design, and RAK Porcelain, an international reference in the Ho.Re.Ca. channel with over 40,000 customers worldwide.

The space, housed in an elegant rationalist building from the 1930s, welcomes visitors with a glass portal leading to a double-height room with a strong visual impact. Here, bathroom sets by internationally renowned designers alternate, such as the enveloping RAK-Skin collection, the RAK-Remal line by Jordanian designer Sahar Madanat and the iconic RAK-Cloud designed by Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà. Kludi taps and fittings and the large Maximus slabs, the true protagonists of the space, slide on wall tracks creating mobile theatrical wings and introducing the rich material library.

A striking chandelier composed of 86 light points, designed to draw a wave of light, visually connects the ground floor to the mezzanine, the design heart of the Hub. Here is a second material library, the kitchen area made of 14 mm Maximus slabs and equipped with the CookingRAK invisible induction system, together with the new Kludi tapware and RAK Porcelain collections.

Descending to the basement level, you enter a display area dedicated to the ‘complete solution’ concept, where each room is built to show the versatility of the collections. These include RAK-Valet, the line designed by Patrick Norguet, with monolithic shapes and thin edges, RAK-Des, a tribute to the Bauhaus school also declined in new colours, and RAK-Batu, with mica-effect material surfaces. Also in evidence is the prestigious collaboration with Elie Saab, which enriches the offer with bathroom and wellness elements of the highest level.

‘Our vision is to present ourselves to designers as a Lifestyle Solution Provider,’ said Abdallah Massaad, CEO of the group. ‘The opening of the RAK Ceramics Design Hub in Milan represents a milestone in our journey and a strong signal of the direction we want to take: providing concrete, customisable and global answers to the design world.’

With a consolidated presence in over 150 countries, a highly technological production and a philosophy oriented towards sustainability and continuous research, RAK Ceramics confirms, with the Milan Design Hub, its role as a protagonist in the contemporary interior and architecture scene. A place that is not just a showroom, but a dynamic space for meeting, training, co-creation and inspiration for all design professionals.
