Contract District Group launches Family Contract division

In 2024, Contract District Group embarked on a major transformation with the launch of its new ‘Family Contract‘ division. This initiative is designed to serve the channel of professionals and their clients, offering a complete and integrated service. Among the first projects of this division is the transformation of a 1950s building, originally part of a factory, into twelve modern residences. The result is a loft that celebrates the industrial heritage of the past while integrating the comfort and elegance of contemporary materials.

Located between the Sempione district and Scalo Farini, an area at the centre of a major urban redevelopment, the project is a perfect example of the potential of the new ‘Family Contract’ division. This division addresses architectural firms with a ‘one stop shop service & procurement’ approach, exploiting the services of Contract District Group and the support of its partners. The result is an integrated workflow that optimises execution time by combining construction, lighting and furniture.

“One of the main objectives was to preserve the original identity of this historic location,” comments Rudi Manfrin, Art Director of Contract District Group. “While keeping its distinctive features intact, the space was functionally divided without compromising the feeling of unity and spatiality. Glass was used as a key element to physically divide the spaces without interrupting the visual and perceptual continuity. With its transparency and lightness, it was the ideal tool to create functional separations between the living, kitchen, study and sleeping areas, maintaining a sense of openness and connection while providing the privacy and functionality required for modern domestic life.

One of the most distinctive features of this Milanese loft is the harmonious combination of tones, materials, moods and textures between furniture and building finishes. The clean and elegant lines of the large glass slabs, with shades ranging from amber to bronze, and the glossy and matt lacquered finishes of the furnishings balance the rough appearance of the pigmented plaster, the bush-hammered large slab floors, the natural iron surfaces, the sliding doors and the staircase made of Canaletto walnut. This contrast creates a fascinating visual play, capable of capturing the attention and giving depth to the rooms, adding complexity and character to the space.

For the interior design, Contract District Group collaborated with the best Made in Italy brands. These include Flos for lighting, Lualdi for doors and modular panels, Florim for ceramic cladding, Torsellini Vetro, Cesana for shower enclosures, Ernestomeda for kitchens, Falmec for integrated cooker hood, Lema for wardrobes, furniture and accessories, Edra for sofas, Gessi for sanitary ware and faucets, Listone Giordano for parquet, Caleido for thermo-furnishing, and Clei for concealed furniture, Fonolab for the sound-absorbing panels, Unox Casa for the smart oven with cutting-edge technology, Aeg for the hob, Samsung for the refrigerator, RBM for the heating system, Molteni&C and Novamobili for other furnishing solutions, Verde Profilo for the outdoor vertical green, and Roofingreen and Mirage for the outdoor terrace flooring.

This project exemplifies how Contract District Group’s new ‘Family Contract’ division can transform a historic industrial space into a contemporary residence that combines tradition and modernity, offering an integrated, high quality service.
