In the heart of the island of Sant’Antioco, surrounded by a lagoon landscape suspended between water and sky, stands CASA PE, a 180 sqm apartment on the first floor, fully renovated by the studio di progettazione MULAS. This precise and thoughtful intervention blends functionality, attention to detail, and bold personality, creating a contemporary residence with a strong character.
The clients envisioned a space that was sober and essential, yet capable of conveying a refined aesthetic narrative. Studio MULAS responded with a tailored design, where high-end finishes, iconic furnishings, and carefully crafted lighting come together harmoniously with a smart reconfiguration of interior spaces.
At the heart of the home lies a large open space, conceived as a fluid and welcoming environment. It features a compact yet highly functional kitchen, a fully equipped dining area, a reading corner, and a relaxation zone. A custom-designed architectural partition—concealing a pre-existing structural column—subtly separates the spaces while housing an elegant three-sided bioethanol fireplace, offering a warm and intimate ambiance during winter evenings.
Full-height flush doors, seamlessly integrated into the walls, help maintain the purity of the design lines, reinforcing the minimalist and refined aesthetic that defines the entire home.
For the furniture and lighting, Studio MULAS selected timeless pieces from iconic Italian design brands such as Flos, Cattelan, Calligaris, and Kartell. These elements infuse the interiors with elegance and continuity. The space is enriched by precious material details, including black, golden, and bronze marble finishes, which recur throughout the home and form a cohesive material narrative.
Adding a deeply personal touch, a custom-built display case was created to house marine relics collected by the homeowner—a small “private museum” that serves as both a narrative and a reflection of identity.
The sleeping area unfolds through intimate and cohesive rooms. The master bedroom is conceived as a true suite, adorned with hues of blue and bronze, evoking the tones of the surrounding sea. A walk-in shower facing the bed, a dressing room, and a private bathroom enhance the suite, turning daily living into an experience of wellbeing.
From the panoramic terrace, framed by large glass windows, residents can enjoy the surrounding landscape while relaxing in a hot tub, embraced by the island’s quiet serenity.
With CASA PE, Studio MULAS has created a home where formal balance and emotional warmth coexist in perfect synergy. A house that is both refuge and aesthetic statement, where every detail is thoughtfully designed to convey harmony, beauty, and a deep sense of place.
A design vision that once again affirms the studio’s ability to transform the act of living into a true experiential journey.
