On the occasion of the next edition of the Genova Design Week 2025, the volume and the Exhibition related to the project ‘Best Houses Design Selection’, conceived by PLATFORM architecture and design will be presented.
The PLATFORM BEST SELECTION series is thus enriched with a new interesting volume, dedicated to the best residences designed by Italian architects and interior designers in the world.
The volume will collect 80 selected projects, expressing the most current living trends, with an in-depth analysis of the relationship between the architectural envelope and its content. In addition to the publication, the projects will be the focus of an exhibition hosted in the prestigious Antica Borsa di Genova, in Piazza De Ferrari, open to the public from 21st to 25th May 2025.
The official opening of the exhibition will take place on 22nd May at the Palazzo della Borsa Vecchia, while on the 23rd and 24th May it will be the turn of the PLATFORM Architecture Festival, a discussion and in-depth event where the selected architects will present their projects and their vision on contemporary living. The schedule of speeches will be open to the public free of charge.
The ‘Best Houses Design Selection’ exhibition is an extraordinary snapshot of contemporary living through a selection of single-family houses ranging from highly prestigious villas to small home renovations. The common thread is design quality, which transcends budget and client, demonstrating how architectural excellence can emerge in any context. The projects on display will offer a wide and diversified vision, recounting innovative solutions and new interpretations of living, always respecting the territory, sustainability and the needs of contemporary society.
The exhibition layout was designed by Studio Superluna, founded by Luca Sartori and Marco Bonfatti Paini. The concept of the installation is inspired by the metaphor of sailing in a stormy sea: ‘We sail in a stormy sea, all together, all in the same big boat. Fragility accompanies us in an age full of uncertainties, but we sail looking ahead, towards the future, in the awareness that architecture can still be one of those tools to save us, among the high waves of this contemporaneity. Eight decagonals, like great signal buoys at sea, direct our perpetual navigation, telling us ideas, thoughts, strategies and showing us the way to reach home’.
The publication ‘Best Italian Houses’ will be a volume of over 400 pages, available physically during the event and later in a digital version, with free downloads. It will also be available in print edition on online stores such as Amazon and the Platform Digital Bookshop.
Registered architects attending the event will receive 7 cfp for participation on 23 May and 6 cfp for participation on 24 May.
