In the sun-drenched landscape of the French Riviera, french designer Tassiane Laure reinterprets a 1970s residence through a complete transformation that blends contemporary elegance with the layered spirit of its surroundings. Once constrained by an outdated floor plan, the house has been entirely reimagined: its interiors dismantled and reconstructed to embrace light, materiality, and rhythm.
The design draws inspiration from the ornamental villas and seaside promenades of the Riviera, where decorative details and a relaxed lifestyle have long defined the region’s architectural character.
Textures and finishes shape the narrative: travertine floors flow seamlessly throughout the spaces, their natural veining recalling the sun-warmed stone facades of the locale, while kitchen countertops and the island in quartzite introduce a luminous depth.
In the living room, a richly textured wallpaper sets an evocative atmosphere, becoming both backdrop and protagonist of the space. Locally sourced fabrics and subtle accents echo the Mediterranean landscape, grounding the interiors in their coastal context. Every gesture resonates with balance and proportion, shaping interiors that feel both composed and inviting. Rather than relying onornamentation, the design allows materials, light, and textures to speak, creating a contemporary home firmly rooted in its place.
Thus, dignity and resonance are restored to a once-forgotten dwelling, inviting its inhabitants into dialogue with the timeless elegance of the French Riviera.
