A home between roots and horizons

A home to reconnect with oneself, suspended between the silence of the mountains and the vivid memory of distant places. In Courmayeur, Alessio Vittori Studio designs the interiors of a private residence as a sensitive refuge for a client accustomed to a life of travel. A place to finally feel at home, immersed in nature, without giving up a cosmopolitan identity shaped by movement and cultural encounters.

The mountain becomes part of the space through large windows and skylights that draw in natural light and the seasonal tones of the surrounding landscape. This visual immersion is echoed in the color palette, inspired by the greens, browns, and beiges of the alpine environment, with fabrics and curtains crafted by local artisans. Every element contributes to a welcoming and expressive environment: from the oak and local walnut parquet – the latter sourced from the client’s father’s property – to custom-made furnishings and personalized lighting.

The layout unfolds through a fluid sequence of rooms. From the entrance, a custom-designed wooden staircase leads to a hallway that opens to the guest area and bathroom, both finished with carefully selected materials. The heart of the project is the living area, dominated by views of Mont Blanc and a suspended fireplace. The atmosphere invites stillness. The open-plan kitchen, integrated with a bespoke bookcase, connects to the dining area, where contemporary design elements meet artisanal production.

The master suite completes the spatial narrative, overlooking a panoramic balcony and defined by details that harmonize with light and architectural rhythm. Here too, every component is designed to meet both functional and expressive needs. The entire apartment becomes a narrative device that weaves together objects collected in India, Vietnam, and Colombia with the culture of Italian design, forming a visual and material story that reflects the biographical complexity of the client.
