A dream sculpted by Carlo Colombo

Sculpted Dreams is the new collection conceived by Carlo Colombo for ELIE SAAB Maison, a brand for which the architect has served as Creative Director for five years. To coincide with this year’s Design Week, the new 450-square-meter showroom at Via Pietro Mascagni 2 was inaugurated, entirely designed by Colombo himself.

“Sculpted Dreams is the expression of our design philosophy,” states Carlo Colombo. “It is where the richness of forms, textures, and craftsmanship meets the refined world of interiors. We have created a collection that embodies the codes of ELIE SAAB Maison: architectural precision, opulent materials, and relentless attention to detail. Each piece reflects our passion for timeless elegance and sophistication.”

This philosophy finds its fullest expression in the centerpiece of the collection: the Eclisse sofa. In a fascinating fusion of architecture, haute couture, and craftsmanship, Eclisse represents the perfect synthesis of a solid geometric framework and the flowing curves of enveloping seating, creating a refined interplay of contrasts.

The ELIE SAAB Maison collection, created by Colombo in collaboration with Mr. Saab, is the result of a five-year partnership. The two designers meet regularly to develop prototypes, always seeking a dialogue between their unique styles: Saab’s sumptuous art-deco vision merges with Colombo’s modern lines and pure detailing, producing an unrepeatable symphony reflected in every piece. Entirely crafted in the Brianza district, the collection has, over the years, evolved to include an extensive range of furnishings for the home.

The public unveiling of the Eclisse sofa and the Sculpted Dreams collection also marks the relocation of the brand’s main Milan showroom to Via Pietro Mascagni 2. Set within one of the city’s historic buildings and fully designed by Colombo, the 450-square-meter space invites visitors to experience the world of ELIE SAAB Maison through sight, sound, touch, and scent, transforming each interaction into a sophisticated encounter with luxury.

Colombo explains:

“The new showroom is, first and foremost, a home. The goal of the renovation was to transform the space into a true residence: the new house of ELIE SAAB Maison. Those who enter should not perceive an exhibition environment, but rather immerse themselves in a place that demonstrates how the collections can shape an authentic domestic experience. We therefore designed various functional areas: a living space for the family, another dedicated to conversation and entertaining guests, and zones tailored to contract use, such as the dining area. Within the showroom, we also created a small area conceived as a ‘box’ fully clad in mirrors—an evocative setting that each year will host a special piece from the collection, linked to art and design. This year we chose the Lobster armchair, reinterpreted in a striking sky-blue fur and framed by a bold burgundy structure.”

This opening consolidates the presence of ELIE SAAB Maison in Milan’s prestigious design district with a flagship dedicated to lifestyle, innovation, and artistic expression. Materiality and texture take center stage, with refined selections of marble, bronzed mirrors, polished metals, and tactile fabrics enriching every piece. Meanwhile, a sophisticated play of light and transparency accentuates the depth and dimensionality of the entire collection, with Eclisse as its undisputed protagonist.
