A dialogue with light and landscape

Designed by ANK Studio rises in the countryside of Eraclea as a pure, measured architectural gesture. A continuous, curvilinear roof gathers and protects all spaces beneath it, defining the expressive essence of the project and translating into built form the idea of an intimate home—open and in dialogue with the surrounding landscape.

The compositional approach is based on subtraction: the project removes the superfluous to enhance the strength of materials, light, and geometry. The large exposed concrete “tray” bends and shapes itself in response to the spaces below, becoming a single, unified element that embraces the entire structure. The perimeter walls, made of washed concrete, establish a direct relationship with the Venetian countryside, reinterpreting the textures of rural architecture through a contemporary and refined language.

In certain areas, the roof opens to reveal large circular oculi that frame fragments of sky and modulate natural light. These vertical apertures transform the roof from a mere structural element into a responsive device, capable of generating variable atmospheres and animating the perception of interior spaces throughout the day.

Inside, materiality becomes warmer and more welcoming. Wooden surfaces and wide glass openings that connect the living area to the garden create both visual and physical continuity between inside and outside. The landscape literally enters the house, dissolving boundaries and turning nature into an extension of domestic space.

Completing the composition, the garage volume stands out with vertical iroko wood slats—chosen for their durability and tactile presence. Perimeter lighting, projected upward from the base, accentuates the curvature of the roof and creates a refined play of shadows and reflections on the concrete surfaces, enriching the spatial perception at night and restoring to daily life the value of silence, light, and time.
