Pipistrello Pop

Martinelli Luce launches a reinterpretation in a “Pop” key of one of the brand’s great icons, the “Pipistrello” lamp designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965.
Made in a bright yellow, symbol of optimism and exuberance, Pipistrello Pop illuminates spaces by adding light to objects and the surrounding environment. The lamp fits well in lively spaces and colours neutral spaces, creating a visual contrast that influences perception. Yellow embodies a youthful spirit, meeting not only the tastes of those who like to surround themselves with colour, but also the needs of those who want to transform an anonymous space into a vibrant and inviting place.

I love yellow because it is a sunny colour, evoking light, optimism and giving energy. It is a colour I feel because its associations reflect part of my character. Yellow is also the colour of friendship, like the one that bound me to Gae Aulenti, whom I met as a child.
In addition to red, which she often used, I know that she also liked yellow, both warm and sunny colours. Since we have already edited the Ruspa lamp in this colour, why not do Pipistrello as well? Yes, but… in a Pop key!” says Emiliana Martinelli.

The iconic Pipistrello is tinged with a bright yellow in the base cone, while leaving the details in black. A ‘bold’ finish to emphasise details that give the lamp its graphic look.
Gae Aulenti’s signature, which in the classic version of the Pipistrello is lightly engraved on the upper part of the telescope, in this edition is on a shiny black plaque applied to the base cone together with the progressive numbering, thus personalising the lamp.
The Martinelli Luce logo engraved on the stainless steel telescope is highlighted with a black finish. There is also the certificate of authenticity that has always accompanied this iconic lamp.
Pipistrello is the lamp that has become iconic for its ability to combine originality and innovation. The choice of vibrant yellow keeps this spirit alive by going beyond mere aesthetics and thus becomes a symbol of vitality, energy and creative drive.
