Founded in 1948 in France, an hour from Paris, Mesnard Catteau is a family business that has evolved over time while preserving its identity intact. Originally a manufacturer of felt for hats and slippers, the company expanded its horizons in the 1980s, starting production of wall coverings and subsequently establishing itself in the automotive and gardening sectors. Today, Mesnard Catteau is a shining example of French manufacturing that combines expertise, design, and sustainability. Deeply rooted in its local area, the company has chosen to integrate eco-design practices and recycled materials into its production processes, believing that competitiveness and respect for the environment can coexist while promoting craftsmanship and industrial excellence.
This responsible approach is reflected in the Panneau Piano collection, the emblem of the brand’s green philosophy. The range, entirely designed and manufactured in France, is distributed exclusively by Home International and guarantees high-level acoustic performance and an attractive appearance. Made from fibers sourced 50% from recycled plastic bottles and themselves recyclable, Panneau Piano panels are produced using a short, low-carbon supply chain: all raw materials used come from areas located less than 800 kilometers from the production site in Loiret, as certified by the Environmental Data Sheets (FDES). In addition to sustainability, the collection stands out for its acoustic efficiency and great decorative versatility. The panels, available in twenty colors and various sizes, are designed to improve acoustic comfort in high-traffic environments such as offices, schools, hotels, sports centers, and music venues, helping to create peaceful spaces that are conducive to concentration and communication. All products in the Panneau Piano collection can be customized with respect to the versions in the catalog, thanks to the company’s in-house R&D team dedicated to developing tailor-made solutions for a wide range of design requirements.
Each configuration starts with a single monochromatic panel, but multicoloured effects can be achieved by combining multiple versions in the desired colours. The engraved panels, also available in thicknesses of 12 or 24 millimetres, add an extra aesthetic dimension thanks to graphic patterns that enhance the material and make each surface a decorative element with a strong visual impact. With Panneau Piano, Mesnard Catteau demonstrates that design can be beautiful, functional and responsible at the same time, transforming sustainability into a concrete value and the material into a means of improving the quality of space and everyday life.
