ITALAMP brings bespoke lighting from Singapore to Dubai

Lighting design becomes part of the architecture through compositions that adapt to spaces, materials and different ways of living. This is the common thread running through two recent international residential projects by ITALAMP in Singapore and Dubai, where the Kaleido collection explores bespoke lighting through installations conceived in direct relation to the interiors they inhabit.

In Singapore, the project is set within a villa surrounded by greenery in the Chatsworth district, designed by Formwerkz Architects with interiors by Pure Interiors. Generous volumes, glazed surfaces and a seamless continuity between indoors and outdoors define a residence in which three different Kaleido compositions and the Carmen pendant create a luminous journey through handcrafted glass and crystal elements.

In the double-height entrance, a bespoke composition brings together three elements from the collection: NEDA’s helical forms, crafted from ribbed glass in Acid-Etched, Transparent and Teak finishes, are combined with LISIA’s vine leaves in Transparent glass and LILA’s delicate spheres in a Sage shade. Natural light entering through the skylight and expansive glazing interacts with the artificial illumination, multiplying reflections and transparencies while strengthening the connection with the tropical garden.

The lighting narrative continues along the corridor with a second Kaleido configuration combining ALYSSA and NEDA, while in the living area, dark wood panelling and warm tones are offset by a cascade of LISIA leaves in Acid-Etched, Transparent and Amber glass. In the dining room, Carmen introduces a circular geometry through its chrome-finished metal structure and faceted glass elements in Transparent and Teak, echoing the shape of the large round table.

A different relationship between light and space defines Villa Arcadia in Dubai, a private residence designed by AMG Design Consultants. Here, ITALAMP illuminates the dining room with Kaleido Ori, selected to engage with the double-height space and the strong visual connection between indoors and outdoors.

Inspired by the organic forms of nature, the composition develops vertically like a suspended landscape, becoming a distinctive feature that can also be perceived from the outdoor areas. Its light, sculptural forms in glossy white and gold ceramic gain further depth from the natural light filtering through the large Art Nouveau-style window, transforming the installation from a simple lighting fixture into an element that actively contributes to the spatial composition.

From Singapore to Dubai, the two projects reveal different interpretations of the same design approach: on the one hand, a sequence of installations accompanies the domestic spaces through glass, crystal, colour and reflections; on the other, a single composition uses verticality to achieve an almost architectural presence.

In both cases, Kaleido becomes a flexible tool for creating bespoke lighting scenarios, establishing a dialogue between material, light and the specific characteristics of each interior.
