Anteprima Design Festival during the Genova BeDesign Week 2024

Genova BeDesign Week on the occasion of its fifth edition, scheduled from 22 to 26 May 2024 in the historic centre, is organising the Anteprima Design Festival event and is bringing four international archistars to the Ligurian capital. Michele De Lucchi, Fabio Novembre, Clara Bona and Luca Molinari will in fact be the protagonists of the three meetings of the event promoted and organised by DiDe together with the architecture and design magazine Platform with the support of Genoa City Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Liguria Region. The theme of the cycle of three meetings is “Refuges of the Soul. 3 events, 3 designers, 3 visions on how the design of our homes reflects and transforms us. Dialogues curated by Platform with Luca Molinari“.
The first event is scheduled for Tuesday 22 May, at 5.30 p.m., in the Sala delle Grida of the Palazzo della Borsa. For the occasion Michele De Lucchi, Founder of AMDL Circle and one of the protagonists of the avant-garde currents in architecture and design since the 1970s, will speak about multidisciplinary design.
The second meeting on the calendar is with Fabio Novembre (Wednesday 23 May at 5.30 p.m. in the Sala del Bergamasco of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce in Via Garibaldi 4), an architect known for having founded “Novembre Studio”, with which he has been working in the field of architecture, interiors and design for over thirty years. His projects include buildings for large private institutions, hotels, retail systems and residential projects.

The third and final appointment will feature Clara Bona, architect and journalist and founder of Studio98, a small all-female studio dealing with flat renovations, interior design and restyling. The appointment is set for Friday 24 May at 5.30 p.m., at the Auditorium Carlo Felice (Passo Eugenio Montale 4, Genova). The debate will focus on the diversity of houses, respecting the place, the context in which they are located and, above all, the personality of those who live in them.
Luca Molinari, architect, critic, curator, professor of Theory and Architectural Design at the University of Campania ‘Luigi Vanvitelli’ and Editorial Director of Platform, will moderate and contribute to the dialogue in all three meetings.

Genoa BeDesign Week in 2024 will have a new theme, design in motion, and four new paths to be experienced to reflect on the ability to adapt, respond to contemporary challenges and adopt new technologies, materials or creative processes. For its fifth edition, therefore, the event continues to expand and explore new horizons in the name of inclusion and cultural promotion. The route this year will be articulated in four different guidelines with the aim of regenerating a portion of the territory and researching, disseminating and enhancing design.
Genoa BeDesign Week is supported by the Liguria Region, Genoa City Council, Genoa Chamber of Commerce and Ascom Confcommercio Genova.
