In the heart of the Tuscan coast, amidst lush gardens and the intense light of the shoreline, Vudafieri-Saverino Partners undertakes the full renovation of Villa Versilia, a 1950s residence transformed into an elegant contemporary home.
The project, led by Tiziano Vudafieri and Claudio Saverino, reinterprets the existing architecture with a balanced approach between architectural rigor and tactile sensuality, maintaining a perfect harmony between interior and exterior.
The approximately 265 sqm villa underwent a profound intervention that involved both the original volume of the facade and the spatial layout, making them more open, permeable, and immersed in the surrounding landscape. The overall design relies on a triad of materials—glass, wood, and stone—that, intertwined, create a spatial narrative of transparency, solidity, and warmth.
Great attention was given to the relationship with the garden, which extends over an area of 550 sqm: the large glass walls of the living area enhance the dialogue between inside and outside, projecting the house toward the greenery and allowing the living spaces to double during the milder months. The home thus opens to a new idea of domesticity—slow and porous—harmonious with the rhythm of nature.
Inside, the color palette is inspired by the Mediterranean: warm tones ranging from honey to caramel, from light brown to beige, enveloping furnishings, floors, and surfaces, helping to create a sober yet luminous atmosphere—refined yet welcoming.
Active in Milan since 1999 and in Shanghai since 2012, Vudafieri-Saverino Partners is a multidisciplinary studio led by Tiziano Vudafieri and Claudio Saverino, with an architectural approach that combines rigor and storytelling. The studio’s philosophy is based on a dual perspective: that of discipline and that of wonder. Their work spans hotels, restaurants, residences, shops, and spaces for living and working, always placing relationships—between people and places—at the center of each project.
