The Rimadesio collection of complements expands with three new seating designs conceived for living and dining areas. Althea, Ori and Ascot, all designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, explore different typologies and materials through a shared approach in which formal rigour, comfort and craftsmanship contribute to the brand’s distinctive design language.
Designed for reading and relaxation, Althea offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional bergère armchair. A slender stainless-steel structure supports the padded monocoque shell, while the high backrest naturally embraces the head and shoulders, enhancing the sense of comfort. Upholstered in fabric or leather with coordinated piping, the seat forms a continuous, compact volume complemented by leather-covered armrests. A matching footstool extends the seating experience, turning Althea into an intimate space dedicated to wellbeing.
With Ori, the focus shifts to wood craftsmanship and the balance between visual lightness and artisanal expertise. The structure is shaped through meticulous woodworking, with handcrafted joints and carefully sanded surfaces creating a continuous and harmonious profile. Taking advantage of the natural flexibility of wood, the backrest curves around the seat to form the armrests. Elastic webbing enhances comfort, while the seat is available in two versions: with a slim padded cushion upholstered in leather or fabric, or with woven cord. The result is a discreet yet distinctive presence that establishes a natural dialogue with contemporary interiors.
Wood craftsmanship also defines Ascot, a lounge armchair that reinterprets the elegance of Nordic seating. Its smooth, sinuous wooden frame combines visual lightness with structural solidity, supporting a suspended leather shell stretched over the backrest spindles. A soft leather cushion enhances comfort, while contrast stitching and padded inserts on the armrests introduce refined detailing.
Different in character and function, the three new designs share the same attention to proportions, materials and construction details. With Althea, Ori and Ascot, Rimadesio further expands its collection of complements, creating an increasingly articulated range of furniture designed to interact with contemporary spaces through a consistent and recognisable language.
