For more than fifty years, Italamp has been creating bespoke lighting collections and installations that combine aesthetic research, artisanal craftsmanship and technological innovation. Within this context, Kaleido stands out as a decorative system designed for hospitality, contract and high-end residential environments, distinguished by highly customizable compositions crafted from crystal, glass and porcelain.
Presented during Milan Design Week 2026, Palette and Bloomé enriched Italamp’s Kaleido collection with two new configurations that explore the relationship between light, materiality and customization. Although different in their expressive language, both projects share the ambition of transforming lighting into a scenographic element capable of engaging with architecture and contemporary interiors.
Kaleido Palette interprets light through a painterly inspiration. Drawing from the gesture of a brushstroke, the design translates its essence into a suspended composition made of slender glass plate elements. Arranged in space like luminous traces, these elements overlap to create a delicate balance of transparency, reflection and movement. Glass plays a central role in defining the piece, becoming a surface capable of capturing and refracting light through effects that evoke the language of painting. The various shades interact like pigments on an artist’s palette, generating ever-changing compositions that shift according to the observer’s perspective and the surrounding lighting conditions.
Kaleido Bloomé, on the other hand, offers a vision of light inspired by the natural world. The project takes the form of a luminous cascade of tulips, reinterpreted through crystal and a manufacturing process that enhances the material’s ability to diffuse and reflect light. The composition features metal stems available in Gold Nickel, Light Gold and Matte Champagne finishes, paired with carved crystal buds representing different stages of blooming. The flowers can appear closed, in transparent crystal, or open, in iridescent, transparent or transparent carved finishes, creating a visual effect rich in depth and subtle nuances.
A defining feature of the project is its compositional flexibility. Bloomé can be configured with suspension cables of equal length to achieve a more rigorous and architectural appearance, or with varying lengths that evoke the spontaneous movement of a suspended bouquet. This versatility allows the system to be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of design contexts, from contract spaces to private residences.
Palette and Bloomé join the broader Kaleido family, which now includes thirteen decorative elements conceived to create ever-changing lighting installations. Available in a wide range of finishes and colours, the different configurations enable bespoke solutions tailored to the needs of architects, interior designers and international clients.
At the heart of the entire collection lies the manufacturing expertise that has always defined Italamp. Glass and crystal are handcrafted to achieve exceptional levels of transparency, brilliance and aesthetic quality, reaffirming the role of materiality as a fundamental element in shaping the brand’s lighting identity.
