Essential geometries, architectural volumes and a nature-inspired color palette define the evolution of the Balcoon collection designed by Patricia Urquiola for Duravit. The range is now enriched with new ceramic furniture washbasins conceived to broaden planning possibilities for both residential interiors and contract projects.
Available in four widths – 600, 800, 1000 and 1300 mm, the latter featuring a double basin – the new pieces maintain the architectural language that defines the entire Balcoon collection: clean lines, a balance between solids and voids, and a refined interaction between surfaces and different levels.
According to Patricia Urquiola, the collection was conceived as a play on overlapping volumes and planes capable of introducing dynamism into the bathroom space. The washbasins appear as monolithic sanitary ceramic volumes in which the basin is seamlessly integrated into the geometric structure. A slim perimeter rim guides the transition from the flat surface to the recessed basin, introducing a subtle yet highly distinctive detail.
The collection is available in White, Matt White and Clay Terra Matt, a warm terracotta shade that reinforces the dialogue between the product and a more natural, welcoming domestic atmosphere.
The extension of the Balcoon range goes beyond the washbasins themselves and also includes a coordinated furniture system. Vanity units are available either with two drawers or with a combination of drawer and open symmetrically divided compartment, while the semi-tall cabinets continue the same compositional balance between closed surfaces and open spaces.
Textured finishes and natural tones – ranging from Ivory and Sand Beige to earthy Browns and Anthracite – contribute to creating spaces with a warm contemporary character. Matching faucets in Chrome, brushed Stainless Steel and Matt Black complete the composition.
With Balcoon, Duravit aims to make sophisticated design accessible within the medium price segment, while maintaining high-quality standards and a design approach consistent with the language of contemporary interiors. The new furniture washbasins therefore become part of a complete collection including ceramics, furniture, bathtubs, faucets, all united by a timeless and essential aesthetic.
