Light is no longer simply a functional component of space, but a tool capable of enhancing comfort, transforming the perception of interiors and supporting increasingly flexible ways of living. This vision emerges from Ledvance’s latest proposals under the Osram brand, designed for contemporary homes where lighting, well-being and technology are becoming progressively more integrated.
Among the new products, the range of Osram ceiling fans with integrated lighting combines illumination and ventilation in a single fixture. The Standard, Retractable and Compact families feature energy-efficient, low-noise DC motors, LED lighting with selectable colour temperatures and remote control operation. Their reversible function also makes them suitable for year-round use, helping redistribute warm air accumulated near the ceiling during winter. Particularly interesting from a design perspective is the Retractable family, whose transparent blades remain concealed within the lighting fixture and extend only when the fan is switched on.
Flexibility is also at the heart of Twist Table, a portable lamp with an essential silhouette, designed to create a convivial atmosphere both indoors and outdoors. Cordless and IP44-rated, it can move seamlessly from the living room to the terrace while maintaining the same lighting ambience. Touch and rotation controls allow users to manage different modes and RGBW colours, while the Smart+ Bluetooth app can also be used to synchronise multiple lamps.
With Osram Flex Acoustic Black, light becomes directly integrated into the architecture. The LED strips are designed to fit between the slats of acoustic panels and, thanks to their matt black finish, remain almost invisible when switched off. Once illuminated, they create a uniform line of warm white light at 3000 K. The modular system, installed using an adhesive backing, thus brings together lighting and acoustic comfort without introducing additional visually intrusive elements onto surfaces.
A more distinctly decorative language characterises Decor Minimal, a collection comprising Circle, Aura, Helios and Celestio, Swirl and Tetragon. Essential geometries, lightweight volumes and an ultra-thin LED filament define a family designed to provide uniform illumination, with the possibility of adjusting brightness and, in selected models, colour temperature. Circles, ellipses and quadrangular forms thus become graphic elements that interact with the architecture without visually weighing it down.
Connected technology further expands the role of lighting through the Smart+ Wi-Fi ecosystem, which enables remote control not only of lighting but also of home heating and security. Thermostatic valves, indoor and outdoor cameras, as well as water, smoke, motion and door and window sensors make it possible, for example, to manage a second home even when it is unoccupied, preparing the rooms before arrival and monitoring the property remotely.
The same principle of adapting light to different activities is applied in the kitchen, where Ledvance combines recessed spotlights and pendant lamps with under-cabinet systems, LED strips and portable fixtures. Solutions featuring motion sensors, adjustable colour temperature and smart
controls make it possible to differentiate general lighting from task lighting for worktops, while Smart+ Flex Strips introduce indirect illumination that can be integrated above wall units or along the perimeter of the countertop.
Taken together, these new solutions reflect an evolution from light as an individual fixture to light as part of a broader system, capable of integrating with architecture, contributing to environmental comfort and adapting to different activities and moments throughout the day.
