RAK Ceramics was in fact one of the first companies to believe in the new needs linked to modern architecture and interior design, investing in technological innovation for the production of large slabs in oversize format. While they were initially considered a niche product and considered suitable only for large spaces, particularly in the contract sector, it has become clear that large format slabs are also appreciated for small spaces. The reduced joints between the various elements offer a new way of enhancing the available space by creating elegant visual effects thanks to surface continuity, making rooms more spacious and homogeneous.
Porcelain stoneware tiles are produced using pure and selected imported raw materials, mixed using the most advanced extraction and selection techniques; they are also produced using a process similar to that used for single-fired tiles. The high pressure, together with the high firing temperature, above 1200°C, produces a very compact and resistant ceramic surface, with a very low water absorption ratio and extremely high mechanical resistance.
