Oliver Franz Schmidt, Natali Canas del Pozo, and Lucas Echeveste Lacy are the architects of Barcelona-based EL EQUIPO CREATIVO, an interior design group specialising in the design of spaces dedicated to gastronomy, commerce, brands and hospitality, also carrying out many collaborations with leading figures in the culinary world.
The Kimpton Vividora Hotel is the new hotel designed by Equipo Creativo in the historic centre of Barcelona, offering a wide variety of gastronomy.
Guests are invited to enter a unique and distinctive atmosphere and enjoy the hotel’s different services. These include Café Got, a lively space that combines Barcelona tradition with Kimpton Vividora style. The bar space is located on the lower floor and has a long façade facing the street, acting as an element of fusion with the neighbourhood in which it is located.
Ciutat Vella, and more precisely the Gothic Quarter and its street atmosphere, was one of the main inspirations for the design of the project, thanks to the characteristic alleys leading to unexpected squares, and the folkloric terraces and entrances of the residential buildings. Stones, green plants and water are the elements used in the stylistic design of the restaurant, typical of the oases of the city of Barcelona.
The interior of the venue has a double height from which a cascade of lamps cascades down to the first floor’s lobby, giving an additional sense of freshness to the environment. The lounge area on the lower floor is positioned towards the outside to be visible from the street and attract the attention of passers-by. The details include green ceramic tiles with geometric motifs, custom-made by local craftsmen, and inserted on the walls and partitions, together with compositions of plants, creating a visual contrast with the golden partitions. The hotel’s star feature is the bar, located at the back of the building, which looks like a luminous stone on a limestone floor, while walls and carpets in terracotta tones match the reddish colours of the wood. The furniture has been carefully chosen from proposals by local designers and enriches the atmosphere with a traditional style.
