The exhibition “Visions of the Future: Avant-Garde Architectures” (Visioni del Futuro: Architetture Avanguardistiche), organised by Ceramica Sant’Agostino in collaboration with Platform Architecture and Design, has come to a successful conclusion.
Inaugurated last 25th November at the Ceramica Sant’Agostino flagship store in Milan on the occasion of the Milan Drawing Week, the event closed with a charity auction, the proceeds of which were entirely donated to the City of Hope Foundation, an institute of excellence in paediatric research.
“Visions of the Future: Avant-Garde Architecture” explored the most visionary frontiers of contemporary architectural design, offering a reflection on the evolutionary potential of architecture in the face of global challenges. Through drawings on paper, realised with mixed techniques by eleven authors belonging to some of the most important names in architecture on the Italian scene, the exhibition aimed at launching an invitation to rethink our way of inhabiting the world, to reconsider our living spaces and their potential, and to imagine a tomorrow where creativity and responsibility intertwine to build a brighter, more conscious and sustainable future. A profound and necessary reflection, capable of inspiring not only professionals in the sector, but anyone who looks to the future with hope and vision.
Ceramica Sant’Agostino, which has been supporting the City of Hope Foundation (Fondazione Città della Speranza) for years, wanted to give a concrete value to what is not only the title of the exhibition, so that “Visions of the Future” does not remain just a name, but a real commitment.
Founded in 1994 thanks to the will of Franco Masello, the Foundation, in addition to financing projects vetted by a scientific committee, has created the Città della Speranza Paediatric Research Institute, an institution of excellence at international level for advanced paediatric tumour diagnostics, which hosts over 220 researchers and dozens of research groups.
Founder of Città della Speranza Franco Masello says “I would like to thank Ceramica Sant’Agostino and Platform architecture and design for this high cultural level exhibition which, thanks to the charity auction, translates into concrete support for Città della Speranza. For some years now, Ceramica Sant’Agostino, whose orientation towards Social Responsibility is an integral part of its corporate identity, has been working side by side with the Foundation: a collaboration that confirms an important support to our mission: to be close to those in need. This event demonstrates a concrete commitment – not just written on paper – of a company that certifies itself through a sustainability report by offering a significant contribution to the interest of the community, especially to children. Lastly, as an entrepreneur, I believe that all companies should make an ongoing commitment to invest a portion of their economic results in social issues for the benefit of the community that has contributed to the achievement of these same results”.
