Tubes novelties at Milan Design Week 2024

For Milan Design Week 2024, Tubes doubles its participation by attending the Salone del Mobile with a stand of no less than 270 square metres and three new products, and the AQUA installation designed by Studiopepe for the Archiproducts space in Milan. The company, an international leader for its designer radiators and towel warmers, demonstrates an ever-increasing focus on innovation by presenting three new products, JJ, DOTS. and MILANO/totalcolour, as well as a selection of proposals that highlight the strong identity of each heating element designed.
JJ and DOTS are two electric heating systems by Ludovica Serafini+Roberto Palomba. Both low voltage (24 volts), they are ideal for enhancing daily comfort at any time of the year and for improving personal well-being. JJ is an equipped shelf with a towel warmer and towel holder function, while DOTS., with its circular shape, provides a cuddle of warmth and remains a useful support even when switched off. The third novelty, MILANO/totalcolour, is a homage and interpretation of the Lombard capital, designed by Antonia Astori and Nicola De Ponti. In the unprecedented monochrome version, the base and tip are coloured in the same shade as the heating body.

The exhibition space at the Salone Internazionale del Bagno, curated by Studio Palomba Serafini, with whom the company has collaborated since 2004, leads the visitor through the company’s great variety of solutions and finishes, through micro-architectures that house precious caskets. The installation symbolises the desire to give the radiator an aesthetic and design centrality, transforming it from an object to be hidden to an element of great relevance, made visible and appreciable as a decorative element.
Each installation acts as a showcase, where Tubes products are confronted with the two-dimensional silhouettes of historical objects of design or everyday life, becoming like works of art or sculptures to be displayed and enhanced. These include Satyendra Pakhalé’s iconic add_On, which celebrates its 20th anniversary, a fine milestone that proves the company’s focus on producing solutions that can stand the test of time.

Inside the exhibition space, visitors were also able to admire a video work generated by artificial intelligence (AI), which further enhances the concept of the radiator. The multimedia work is created by Alessandro Gomiero, artist and expert in generative AI. The video, reproduced on a video wall of about 16 square metres, is not only an interpretation of the company’s products, but is a work that blends technology and design, exploring the world of Tubes radiators and their shapes with a creative vision and a game of emulations.

In addition to its presence at the Salone del Mobile, Tubes took part in the Fuorisalone, in the Archiproducts Milano Aqua project, curated again this year by Studiopepe, an exploration of interior design in which the furnishings are perfectly integrated with forms and materials inspired by the aquatic element. Within the Tubes catalogue, Studiopepe has chosen three products for the Aqua project: the brand new MILANO/totalcolour, Origami and Scaletta, capable as Water is of being a harmonious blend of form and function.
