The architecture studio Takeda Katsuya Design, in conjunction with Milan Design Week 2024, is organising the exhibition-event Timeless Innovation, which aims to pass on the legacy of Japanese companies using traditional techniques through the key of design.
Three Japanese companies, Takeda Katsuya Design, tatehiko and IGUSALONe, with an international vision and a common philosophy: to open up new possibilities for design and pass on craftsmanship in a contemporary interpretation.
The exhibition will present the BRACE collection, a line of furniture created by the designer Takeda Katsuya and made by the Japanese brand tatehiko.
BRACE is a collection with a strong aesthetic appeal, a structure made of the precious Hinoki cypress wood, a typical material used in the construction and furniture industry in Japan since ancient times.
The joints are made with a traditional Japanese architectural technique called Shiguchi, which uses steel to ensure strength despite the thin structures.
The BRACE collection is enhanced by the elegant touch of products from IGUSALONe, a manufacturer that interprets tatami in a modern way.
The name means ‘to bind together’ and it is precisely with this technique that the brand creates innovative products that are applied to various fields such as clothing, food and architecture.
