The Techbau headquarters, designed by Piuarch, obtains the WELL Building Standard® Platinum

The architecture and urban planning studio Piuarch designs the headquarters of Techbau, a general contractor and developer operating in the residential, tertiary, industrial and renewable energy sectors, on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
Perfectly integrated in the natural context, the 1,400 square metre building seems to float on water: the building, immersed in the trees, is in fact raised above ground level, built on a “pile-dwelling” structure in exposed concrete, composed of elements made to design and prefabricated off-site.
This design solution stems from the desire to approach the landscape context in a respectful manner, without artificially modifying its morphology and allowing the lake to overflow without compromising the new construction.

The mirrored glass façades have a dual role: from the outside they reflect the beauty of the surrounding nature and from the inside they guarantee great transparency and connection to the natural lake landscape.
The offices are designed with great distributive flexibility, with a careful balance in the use of natural and artificial light in both workstations and common areas.
Integration and enhancement of works of art within the spaces is a further key factor in defining an extraordinary and non-standard building.
The large terraces clad in composite wood serve as visual telescopes and reinforce the synergy with the natural environment. The outdoor gathering space allows for the best possible use of green spaces in everyday life.

The project received the coveted WELL Building Standard® certification with Platinum level, achieving a score of 86/100.
The WELL system is based on seven holistic principles (air, water, nutrition, light, fitness, comfort and mind) when assessing a building, placing people’s health and well-being at the centre of the design.
Techbau is the eighth project in Italy to obtain WELL Platinum certification and the first by a company operating in the private building sector.
