The future of building passes through MADE EXPO

The tenth edition of MADE expo will be held from 22 to 25 November 2021. MADE expo is the leading trade fair in Italy for the construction sector and for the first time it will be organised directly by Fiera Milano, through the company Made Eventi S.r.l., owned by Fiera Milano (60%) and Federlegno Arredo Eventi (40%).

#BUILDINGTHEFUTURE is this year’s key topic, arising from a growing awareness of the need to reduce environmental impact. MADE expo 2021 widens its gaze to the future of the built environment and places strong emphasis on sustainability. Sustainability that guides design choices for new buildings and redevelopment, which in turn reshape residential and tertiary living spaces to meet the needs of a society that is changing its living and mobility habits.

Environmental quality, energy, new standards and renewed international competitiveness will be presented through an extremely stimulating context for all players in the building community. In fact, the theme of the 110% superbonus will be one of the main focuses of the event. A measure – the latter – able to bring Italy among the countries at the forefront in the process of energy conversion and sustainable development: an opportunity to restart and redevelopment to be seized on the fly. The event will also focus on new business models, new professional figures, new challenges for tomorrow’s designers and how cities must redesign spaces and ways of living to face the ‘new normality’.

In an Italian context where major international real estate developers are looking with interest above all at the redevelopment of new urban areas, the new challenges consist in intercepting the technological, social, environmental and regulatory trends that are pushing urban agglomerations and the industrial fabric to adapt to the new needs of the community. This is a unique opportunity for professionals to start thinking about the need to trigger a profound change in the construction sector, which involves achieving concrete objectives for a new urban liveability, rethinking cities in a sustainable way – from mobility to digitalisation and the efficiency of housing structures – as well as the importance of doing business in a more sustainable way.

The main topics of the 2021 edition of Made Expo are:

  • Technology & Digital to make plants, processes and services more efficient;
  • Climate Effect, which will address the theme of sustainability in terms of both materials and processes;
  • Resources & Recycling, which will test new working methods, procedures and obligations for professionals, companies and materials to achieve good circularity in many construction processes;
  • Next Living to investigate the ‘homes of tomorrow’ in terms of quality of space, comfort and well-being.

4 new areas (Made Bim & Tecnologie, Made Costruzioni & Materiali, Made Porte, Finestre & Chiusure, Made Involucro & Outdoor) are interpreted by made expo 2021 in a brand new layout that makes it easier for professionals to visit, encouraging meetings between technical challenges and innovative solutions and between supply and demand.

Made Bim & Tecnologies presents hardware and software solutions for construction and architecture and tools for design and survey.
Performance, comfort and sustainability are connected at Made Building & Materials, where solutions for infrastructures, innovative construction systems, high-performance materials for building and redevelopment, materials for finishing and colouring, systems and equipment for the building site converge.
At Made Doors, Windows & Shutters, design interprets the best technology for comfort and safety.
Made Enclosure & Outdoor offers a 360° view on transparent and opaque façade systems, on the world of glass and on the world of outdoor and sun screens.
