In a fairy-tale location near the Sázava River and surrounded by forest stands a new garden and wellness centre designed by the architects of Studio Reaktor. As soon as you enter, you can breathe in a magical atmosphere, evoked by finely manicured corners and cosy shelters easily accessible from the basement corridors of the nearby hotel. The darkness and mystery of the corridors suddenly give way to the garden where the wellness centre is located and it is there that an unforgettable experience begins.
Dominating the space is a small natural lake surrounded by different types of saunas, cooling zones and an orangery with a relaxation room. In the orangery, ferns hang from light wells and climbing plants decorate the façade. The surrounding area also has small design objects decorating the space and relaxation areas with loungers. The individual saunas are covered by a wooden batten, which implies the theme of the interior spaces. The interplay and diversity of the interior intensifies the experience with different scents, temperature and music. The most significant decoration appears in the ceremonial sauna, which is used for sensory experiences and collective rituals.
For refreshment, there is an area with shiny stones covered by irregularly shaped slabs with a room also for sauna masters. The garden landscape is criss-crossed by small paths and hiding places. Lights in the tall grass and mountain pines mark key points, while metal runes help orientation by gently pulsating and inviting guests to peek into the saunas. Wooden slats of various widths increase the level of intimacy and privacy where needed. The sauna world created by Studio Reaktor is designed as a dreamlike labyrinth within a garden that goes beyond and becomes a journey towards relaxation.
