Supersalone, the Special Event 2021 of Salone del Mobile.Milano, scheduled from 5 to 10 September at Fiera Milano Rho, is taking shape. Thanks to its new concept, exceptional curatorship and the fact that it is the first major design exhibition to reopen its doors, it promises to reaffirm the centrality of Milan and Salone del Mobile.Milano in the international panorama of design, culture and innovation.
“supersalone”: an auspicious name and logo that become the programmatic manifesto of the event. It will be unique, a one-off event of great and immediate appeal and communicative power, open every day not only to operators but also to the general public; in full compliance with the health rules and protocols adopted at national level against the spread of the coronavirus.
The architect Stefano Boeri and an international team of co-designers – Andrea Caputo, Maria Cristina Didero, Anniina Koivu, Lukas Wegwerth and Marco Ferrari and Elisa Pasqual of Studio Folder – have gathered around a table. A team that will work with Giorgio Donà, co-founder and director of Stefano Boeri Interiors, to define innovative paths that will enhance projects and products in a context of proximity, reflection and sharing.
The proposed format is that of a large design library, whose scenography will harmonise the novelties and creations added to the catalogue over the last 18 months by the companies with their historic products which, thanks to the debut of the Salone del Mobile.Milano digital platform, can be purchased at the end of a rich and engaging customer journey (part of the proceeds will contribute to a charitable cause).
