For 2021 Milano Design Week, Rubelli devoted himself to the theme of soft comfort, presenting the new armchair “Seta“, as well as five new wallpapers and, last but not last, its first collection of acoustic panels.
Rubelli, presents a flurry of novelties focused on the theme of tactile and acoustic comfort. The new layout of its showroom in Via Fatebenefratelli goes in search of solutions for an increasingly welcoming and imaginative home, but also designed for the world of contract and office.
SETA
Rubelli Casa, already in September 2020, had proposed a wide collection of new furniture under the artistic direction of Matteo Nunziati, still on display in the showroom. These are the “families” of sofas Velour and Asola and the small armchair Tela.
Now, once again with to the work of Nunziati, it completes the proposal with the new armchair “Seta”, where we can clearly see the textile DNA of the company.
Inspired by the artistic movement of the Italian twentieth century and in particular by the work of Guglielmo Ulrich, Seta is an armchair with an essential design, but at the same time rich and refined.
Thanks to the curved, soft and welcoming lines, combined with a dry and elegant style Rubelli creates this ambivalent effect giving life to a precious armchair, contemporary and yet timeless.
WALLPAPERS
In addition of over 40 different coverings in its catalog, Rubelli is presenting five new items this year and three of them are inspired by the fabrics of the 2021 “Di varia natura” collection.
The new protagonists are:
Burano Wall – A vision of the Venetian island, with its colorful houses, that creates a vaguely geometric suggestion printed on vinyl. The appearance is that of a painter’s canvas turned into an architectural subject.
Déjeuner sur l’Herbe Wall – A revisited toile de Jouy that is populated by elegant figures in eighteenth-century clothing in an idyllic and carefree picture. The wall-applicable version of the print of the same name thus recalls painting in the open air.
Java Wall – The superimposition of metallic and opaque silhouettes presents in the foreground elements of vegetation with graceful shapes. The print on TNT of the homonymous jacquard recalls Japanese lacquers with a continuous play of light and shadow.
Aquarius Wall – The transposition of the design of a new marbled paper imitates the veining and chromatic mottling typical of marble. The result is an allover pattern, unique, elegant and contemporary.
Eldorado Wall – The encounter between textile art and goldsmith’s art in a cladding that is intentionally flashy, but decidedly refined. An embossed vinyl that emphasizes the preciousness of gold and gives a touch of glamour.
RUBELLI ACOUSTICS BY SLALOM
As absolute novelty Rubelli presents a product that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and sustainable.
These are the “Rubelli Acoustics by Slalom“: thermoformed acoustic panels covered with high-performance Rubelli fabrics, and developed in collaboration with the Milan-based company Slalom.
Nicolò Favaretto Rubelli, Managing Director of Rubelli, comments: “The themes of comfort and sustainability are becoming increasingly important in our lives. We wanted to integrate our offer with a product that can guarantee sound absorption and at the same time bring the aesthetic and qualitative value assured by Rubelli fabrics. For this important project we wanted to be supported by an expert and qualified partner such as Slalom, a dynamic Milanese company expert in acoustic panels“.
The collection debuting at the Salone 2021 features two types of panels: Cloud Acoustic Wall is characterized by a rusticated effect, where the rectangles swell with strong relief, while as the name already suggests, Wave Acoustic Wall is distinguished by its wavy surface.
Among the main features of the panels are noted:
- the high aesthetic value, thanks to the type and colors of the fabrics used that allow great customization;
- the high sound-absorbing quality that guarantees acoustic well-being and consequently increases the level of comfort in the rooms;
- the ease of installation, because they are applied and detached from the wall through the use of Velcro;
- the possibility of use in both residential and public contexts, thanks to fireproof certifications;
- sustainability, given by the material (fabric and support) certified GreenGuard Gold. All panels are made of 70% recycled polyester and are 100% recyclable.
Elettra De Pellegrin, Managing Director of Slalom, adds: “The collaboration between Rubelli and Slalom makes the concept of Acousthetics, a synthesis of acoustics, ethics and aesthetics, a reality. In compliance with the highest green standards, what we see today is the result of the sharing of know-how, demonstrating how innovation can be born in Italy“.
