China restarts after the health emergency and demonstrates this with the completion of two SKP Malls in the capital Beijing and the metropolis of Xian. An international chain of Department Stores, SKP is the absolute leader in high-end retail in China.
The interior design project for the SKP Select areas was carried out by Vudafieri-Saverino Partners.
The project, which covers a total of over 5000 square meters, was developed on 5 floors in Beijing and 4 in Xian, inside two Department Stores designed by the London-based studio Sybarite.
The aim of the project was to offer customers a shopping experience that was in line with the value of the brands proposed. Tiziano Vudafieri and Claudio Saverino have thus translated into interior design that sense of subtle and sophisticated luxury that characterizes SKP, giving each floor of the Mall, in the area dedicated to the Select brand and footwear, a precise thematic identity, in line with the type of products on sale and the target audience.
The space has been structured in a regular and geometric way. Furnishings and partitions, designed by Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, guarantee flexibility in the layout, dividing the rooms and creating unexpected corners. The dividing partitions have different characteristics according to the thematic areas, taking the form of transparent display units, or high and closed furniture, covered with decorative wallpaper, fabrics, wood or precious metal mesh.
Strolling through the corners dedicated to the different brands and collections, customers can also discover comfortable lounges, where they can stay wrapped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Men’s collection is part of a dynamic design inspired by cars, the Women’s collection is characterized by more classic and refined furnishings, while the youthful Lifestyle proposals recall an innovative and technological world.
The space dedicated to the House is a succession of domestic environments: the furnishings are inspired by Albini’s famous bookcase of the 50s’-60s.
In the footwear area the furnishings are characterized by soft lines and a limited use of few materials, so as to highlight the product.
Furniture made to design, careful research on finishes and materials are the tools used by the architectural studio to give a distinctive identity to each floor, declining the general concept in an ever-changing language.
