Scaliurbani Resilient Communities

SCALIURBANI (www.scaliurbani.it) is back, the first international exhibition on Livorno which, through architecture, aims to participate both in the construction of public spaces and in the qualitative enhancement of living in the future, involving institutions, professionals and the community as a whole in the debate.

The third edition of SCALIURBANI, to be held from 28 September to 2 October on the platform of the former ATL Workshops in Livorno, will focus on these important issues and in particular on resilience, sustainable development, climate change and the impact on the design of architectures for cities, territories and landscapes in the near future; topics that are more topical than ever given the post-pandemic emergency.

The week of the event will therefore be an opportunity to resume the training and discussion activities after more than 18 months, thanks to the participation of the Municipality of Livorno, which has made available an evocative venue such as the old public transport workshops in the heart of Livorno.

The important format conceived and organised by the Livorno Ordine degli Architetti PPC will be connected to the events in the schedule of the Festival of Sustainable Development by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASVIS) and, above all, will be an important opportunity for discussion thanks to its inclusion in the events of the Italian Pavilion “Resilient Communities” promoted by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale thanks to the collaboration with curator Alessandro Melis.

The event gathers more than 50 trans-disciplinary participants, including architects, academics, entrepreneurs, politicians, in other words a parterre of experts at a global level who will take turns in the rich physical and/or virtual schedule of lectures, live talks, book presentations and round tables, a building-hub inspired by the UN Strategic Agenda 2030.
