Architect Enrica Pinna and the Cristofori Santi Architetti design studio have realised the Ports 1961 flagship shop in Paris, in the very central Rue Saint Honoré.
The flagship store signals the debut of the new Ports 1961 concept, developed together with the Creative Director Karl Templer, and reflects the new vision of the brand where character, individuality and pragmatism coexist.
The concept uses luxurious and authentic materials in a contemporary way that nevertheless evoke Paris, creating a sense of continuity with the building in which the store is located.
The architectural space was conceived as neutral where episodes and special objects can emerge.
In the project, the staircase assumes a fundamental role.
It is the heart of the composition of the ground floor, a reinterpretation of a typical French staircase, but with a modern flair.
The introduction of iconic pieces of design from the mid-twentieth century are in homage to the founder of the brand, Luke Tanabe, who developed his vision of the rise of the modern woman during a period of cultural ferment and important innovation both in fashion and in design.
