Fifty years after its foundation, Ponte Giulio confirms itself as an interesting reality for designers, because it offers complete proposals that intend accessibility as a balance between aesthetics, comfort and safety.
The Orvieto-based company celebrates its 50th anniversary by participating in the 40th edition of Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings. Ponte Giulio presented together with the bathroom solutions Omnia, Solo Shower and PrestigioPlus, an exclusive novelty: the 650Evo watertight door bathtubs. Placed in any bathroom environment, even those with very limited space, these bathtubs make small dimensions their main feature. The bathtub body and sides are made of hand-laminated glass-resin with a glossy gelcoat surface finish. It is equipped with a hinged door made of 15 mm thick transparent PMMA, a flip-up seat and offers the possibility of customising the colour of the perimeter panels.
The 650EVO bathtubs with door, designed by designer Paolo Parea, are especially designed for people with mobility problems and, thanks to their compact dimensions, can also be used as equipped shower cubicles, thanks to the accessories they come with. Unlike other models, the 650Evo bathtubs play a dual role: both as normal bathtubs with a side-opening door in which to enter, sit and soak, and as equipped shower cubicles to facilitate accessibility and hygiene.
During the design phase, the Ponte Giulio team took into account the fact that the average surface area of a domestic bathroom in Italy varies between 8 and 10 square metres, and fitting a tub with a ‘normal’ sized door becomes an almost impossible task.
The 650Evo bathtubs, available in 3 models (110, 95 and 90), can fit perfectly into even the most limited spaces, representing the answer to many comfort and safety requirements that could not otherwise be met.
Their compact dimensions allow them to be installed in spaces with limited space, and this is the result of a careful design that foresees the position of the drain outlet, located in one of the side panels, in order to free up the walking surface while limiting the risk of tripping. The internal bathtub body, upper profiles and opening edge are white, while the external colours available are: White, Grey – RAL 7024 and Dove grey.
At Cersaie 2023, Ponte Giulio, in addition to the 650EVO door bathtubs, proposes other Life Caring design solutions such as Omnia – which offers design safety handles with a flat section, different models of seats and stools with great aesthetic value – but also Hug, which was the first real proposal for a beautiful and safe bathroom. An innovative furnishing system for all ages and physical conditions, which stems from the desire to share values related to the intimate sphere and the careful care of oneself and others. The large coloured PrestigioPlus handles with their contemporary design are safe, functional and versatile, they allow you to freely configure the space, allowing you to organise it in a creative and personal way with other accessories.
Alongside the handles, a key element that characterises all Ponte Giulio proposals, the collection includes removable folding supports, stools chairs and shower seat, then washbasins, consoles, mirrors. Another example are the proposals of columns and shower sets safe Solo Shower that guarantee a certified 150 kg tensile strength, as well as shower trays and glass enclosures that complete a collection that allows you to configure any bathroom context, private or public.
