Platform Tell the Project is Platform’s Editorial Series conceived by Angelo Dadda: it is a simple and intuitive communication system for the promotion of architecture studios through the emotional narration of one of their best completed projects or
most recent. All the editorial products that make up the Tell the Project series (printed, digital or video) are conceived and produced to be presented and distributed, either to a broader (consumer) or more targeted (trade) target, according to the strategies of the protagonist architecture firm or through the integrated digital system (cross action) of communication tools of the Platform Architecture and Design magazine network.
The second volume of the series is entitled “Adèle Mixology Lounge, Hotel Splendide Royal in Rome. A project by Giammetta Architects’.
Twenty years after the opening of the Hotel Splendide Royal, in 2021 the owners decided to follow up on the original project to renovate the building to give the historic Roman hotel a new look and extra-luxury design. The new project involved the renovation of many of the original rooms, the award-winning Mirabelle gourmet restaurant, the launch of the new Splendide Boutique hospitality concept and the Adèle terrace. In addition to the sixty-nine rooms, the property has been enlarged by sixteen new suites, inaugurating the boutique wing, a small hotel within the hotel that is characterised by contemporary, up-to-date luxury and the utmost exclusivity and privacy. This innovative redevelopment and the interior design project of the Splendide Boutique were carried out by Giammetta Architects, known and appreciated for their decades of experience in the entertainment and hospitality sector in Rome. The aim of the intervention was to bring contemporary lines, shapes and language into the new areas of the imposing historic building.
An articulated interplay of decorative elements intertwines, with balance and harmony, with contemporary forms: old and new, deco and minimal dialogue continuously throughout these spaces.
