The leading logistics services company Unidex recently decided to renovate its logistics hub in the city of De Zilk, the Netherlands. To meet the requirements of a new operational layout of the company’s headquarters, the design of a new lighting system proved essential, for which products from PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING were chosen. The project aimed to improve lighting levels and optimise energy efficiency while meeting the specific requirements of new workflows and operational processes.
In cooperation with Velectra, PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING developed a tailor-made lighting design that not only achieved the required lux levels, but was also designed to adapt to the new workstation layout according to Unidex’s operational process requirements. Thanks to the use of the versatile TRY series trunking system, which is available in different power levels, it was possible to customise the lighting for each area of the warehouse, ensuring optimal lighting for each room. Through no less than 2.5 km of light lines, the TRY system provides homogeneous and uniform lighting throughout the warehouse. In addition, recessed ceiling luminaires of the PLATO and MANGO series were used, which strategically illuminate specific areas and provide continuity with the TRY series.
The new lighting design for Unidex’s logistics centre not only meets the company’s operational requirements, but also sets a benchmark for energy-efficient lighting. In fact, the new system allows more than 60% energy savings compared to the previous configuration, demonstrating the great potential of customised solutions to improve functionality while promoting sustainability.
With the integration of the TRY, PLATO and MANGO series, Unidex’s warehouse is now equipped with a state-of-the-art lighting system, representing how important it is to combine operational objectives with sustainability and energy efficiency.
