ORIGINI

“An ancestral law binds us to the symbols of our forbearers, their signs, hidden or confused, are like seeds scattered in the fertile soil of our imagination”.

ORIGINI. The new project of the premium line Abitzai by Ceramica Mediterranea, features precious finishes styled with a contemporary language, to transcend the rules of form, where perception and mirage merge.

Areale and Tibula: novel signs and new textured surfaces conjuring up landscapes suspended between appearance and memory. The decorative themes are created using artisanal techniques that guarantee quality and value by applying coloured and metallic glazes to the porcelain stoneware base.

The collections are available in two compositional layouts: solid field on 60×120 tile and semi-full with vertical cut also on 60×120 tile. Both decorative themes adapt perfectly to the aesthetic requirements of architectural spaces, helping to enhance contemporary environments. The surfaces convey value and character to the rooms thanks to plays of light and colour, the shades range from neutral-warm to sea green, from earthy terracotta to volcanic anthracite. The structures are responsive to lighting and rich in tactile and material details.

Ceramica Mediterranea is an Italian porcelain stoneware company. It creates collections for the brands Mediterranea and Abitzai in Sardinia, featuring locally sourced raw materials and an on-site production powered by an unmatched social and sustainable agenda. The brainchild of Bernhard and Claudia Mazohl, its story began in 2001 with the purchase of the factory in Guspini, Sardinia. The family embarks on a twenty-year journey to create a sustainable porcelain stoneware production within Italy and a house of brands representing a unique reality in the Ceramic landscape.

The company’s responsible business model promotes circular practices and the preservation and regeneration of the territory. In 2021, through a partnership with Enel X and Enel Green Power, Ceramica Mediterranea launches The Green Island Project to reach carbon-neutral production and independence from fossil fuels.
