Generally, when one has to design a bathroom equipped with safety devices for the elderly, disabled or those with motor problems, one does not think one has much choice on the aesthetic front. Instead, Ponte Giulio, with more than 50 years of experience, succeeds in combining the two elements, without one having to exclude or detract from the other.
In particular, OMNIA, in “the whole”, is a line of versatile and complete elements that allow the user to move around the bathroom with confidence. The collection includes accessorised safety handles, shower seats, storage units, washbasins, sanitary ware and mirrors, to create a protected, hazard-free and comfortable environment, equipped with every support to limit strain and risks.
At the heart of the design that combines functionality and aesthetics are the handles, shaped like a flat oval, ergonomic and practical. A special mechanism facilitates the insertion of various accessories under the side terminals of the aid, allowing the handles to become an ‘L’ and ‘U’ shaped towel rail, a roll holder, a coat hook, shelves, as well as object trays and a practical crutch holder. All these functionalities do not detract from its main activity as a safety support: in fact, they guarantee a load capacity of up to 150 kg.
A series of buttons for requesting help, installed as required in the bathroom directly on the products in the collection or on the walls, activate a call to a pre-set telephone number, making a hands-free conversation possible. The control unit, located in the mirror, is operated via a simple and intuitive APP (Help System). In addition, a sanitisation system built into the mirror with PCO™ (photocatalytic oxidation) technology activates the removal of bacteria, viruses and mould from the air and surfaces through a totally natural and non-invasive chemical reaction (Safety Air System).
OMNIA is therefore a true bathroom system that also includes flip-up, simple and floor-standing shower seats, floor-standing and wall-hung sanitary fixtures, two ceramic washbasin formats – 65 and 100 cm – and one in Corian (also 65 cm). The minimally shaped washbasins are completed by a metal frame with an approach handle, a towel holder and a side holder.
The colours of the furniture, Silk White and Carrara Grey, match the handles available in the standard finishes Signal White, Polished Inox and Graphite. In addition to these three colours, there are special versions: Black Nickel, Rose Gold, Satin Rose Gold, Satin Black Nickel, Satin Dark Bronze and Satin Bronze Nickel. The shelves and hangers are made of wood – Iroko – and acrylic stone – Alpine White. The sanitary fittings are available in glossy (White, Black and Petroleum) and matt (White, Grey and Black) versions. Shower seats, stools and storage units are available in the colours Cielo Arctic and Cielo Arctic Dark, as well as in Bianco Segnale and Grafite.
