The G7 Summit, which was held at the Borgo Egnazia resort in Fasano (Brindisi) from 13 to 15 June, naturally focused the media’s attention on Italy and Apulia in particular, which wished to reaffirm its role as a bridge between cultures on this important occasion, confirming its role as a hospitable land thanks also to its traditions, its excellence and its Mediterranean lifestyle.
Natuzzi Italia, the design brand that represents Apulian harmony and hospitality throughout the world, wanted to take part in this important moment precisely because of the close bond that unites it with the territory in which it has its roots. The company has therefore furnished some of the spaces dedicated to the summit with a selection of furnishings that testify to the brand’s excellent craftsmanship and vocation for innovation and research. In the rooms dedicated to bilateral meetings, the Re-vive armchairs found their place, flanked by the Adam coffee tables and the Germoglio lamp.
Re-vive represents the highest expression of Natuzzi Italia’s technological research: it is in fact the first and only recliner in the world that can adapt to the body and react intuitively and fluidly to its movements, even the most imperceptible. The armchair offers unprecedented comfort, responding to the body’s movements without the need to operate any levers: the responsive recline weight compensation mechanism immediately detects changes in the body’s posture, allowing the seat to accompany the posture. Developed after a two-year process in collaboration with Kent Parker – Head of Design at Formway Design Studio – Re-vive is inspired by the strength, flexibility and multidimensional movements found in the natural world. The tail of a lobster, the branch of a tree or the human spine become the source of inspiration to create the perfect recliner that can distribute the weight of the human body and allow balance in a neutral position.
Re-vive was paired with the Adam coffee table designed by Marcel Wanders studio with the desire to combine sustainable materials and a design that speaks of Apulia. The inspiration from naturalness is evident in this coffee table characterised by organic shapes that are enhanced by the covering in spatolato di pietra leccese, an innovative texture made from a sustainable mixture of clay, recycled marble powder and acrylic binders.
Further embellishing the composition is the Germoglio table lamp that recalls the gigantic shoots of Marcantonio’s installation realised during Design Week 2022. Starting from the idea of rebirth and wishing to pay homage to the olive tree, symbol of Apulia, Marcantonio imagined a poetic lamp that seems to recall the warm, sun-filled atmospheres of the Mediterranean, evoked by the golden mirrored surface that amplifies the light in the spaces it decorates.
