Marmomac, the leading international exhibition dedicated to marble and natural stone, renews and expands year after year, proposing a rich educational programme consisting of workshops, events, lectio and conferences focusing on the future of natural stone and its uses in architecture, dedicated to professionals, architects, designers and students.
In Hall 10, next to the cultural exhibitions, there will be The Plus Theatre while inside The Matter of Stone (Hall 1) there will be a Cinema area where meetings will be interspersed with the screening of a film tribute to marble by Davide Rapp. Two areas that will host valuable training moments for those interested in exploring the potential of natural stone in creative and architectural contexts.
The full programme includes courses organised by the Marmomac Academy and accredited by the professional orders of architects in Italy, the UK (RIBA) and the USA (AIA) as well as talks and meetings with architecture and design case studies.
Worthy of note in Hall 10 are the lectio magistralis by architect Mario Botta (Wednesday 27, 2.30 pm) and The Soul of Stone (Thursday 28, 5.00 pm) organised by Platform Architecture and Design with international architecture firms.
At The Plus Theatre, a centre of experimentation related to natural stone, the relationship between marble, technology and art is explored. A relationship exemplified by the dynamic installation in the centre of the exhibition area, where a state-of-the-art machine creates a sculpture in real time during the days of the fair.
Meetings with the authors of the cultural projects on display in the hall will also take place here. These include “Marmomac Meets Academies“, which acts as a link between the academic/educational world and the world of companies thanks to the presence of prototypes created by students from the universities of Florida, Auckland and Dortmund, together with the Polytechnic University of Bari, “Sapienza” of Rome, the Italian Institute of Design and the Academy of Fine Arts of Verona.
In the Hall 1 area, on the other hand, Elle Decor Italia will tell the story of natural stone, involving famous architects and designers who will present case histories of excellence (Massimo Adario, Elisa Ossino, Arianna Lelli Mami, Chiara di Pinto, Paolo Iulian, Giuliano Dell’Uva).
