The design and propensity for innovation of the Italian company Mara have been recognised and rewarded with two prestigious international awards, at the German Design Award 2023 and the Archiproducts Design Awards.

No less than three products from the Mara collection are winners of the German Design Award 2023, the most important prize conferred by the German Design Council: an annual competition established on the initiative of the German Bundestag in 1953. It is one of the most prestigious awards on the international scene, identifying the most significant trends in design, communication and architecture.
The winners in the Excellent Product Design – Office furniture category are the multifunctional Follow me table, design Francesco Barbi and the Timmy Libro H1050 table, design Mara R&D: the former is a multi-tasking, space-saving and height-adjustable table (with a patented mechanical system that does not require electricity); the latter is the innovative table with a Libro closure system equipped with the exclusive “Made in Mara” anti-shock system.
The Icon seat, Mara’s first collection of upholstered seats designed with the creative contribution of Marcello Ziliani, immediately shows its design potential by winning in the Excellent Product Design – Furniture category “for its bold and unmistakable aesthetics” that reinterprets the classic cockpit armchairs in a functional and innovative way.
The three award-winning products are intended for both office and home environments, characterised by a clean and essential yet highly innovative design, conceived to solve the needs of the new increasingly hybrid living and working spaces. Founded in Passirano in 1960 and led today by Luciano Marchina (managing director) and his daughter Laura (managing director), Mara also won over the jury of the renowned Archiproducts Design Awards, an award that celebrates innovation and creativity in the field of international furniture design.
Winner in the Office category is once again Timmy Libro H1050, ‘for the quality of its design, production techniques, quality, functionality and operability‘.
Timmy Libro is a table that allows for dynamic workstations, both standing and seated, as well as for quick meetings, briefings and social occasions. Foldable in just 50 cm by a single person, it can be stored in small spaces when needed.
The Icon armchair also did not go unnoticed, becoming a finalist in the Archiproducts Design Awards, as well as in the Mixology Awards organised by the English magazine Mix Interiors and celebrating the best projects, products and personalities in commercial interior design.
Mara, specialised for over sixty years in the production of systems and furnishing elements for the office, community and everyday life, with its strategic vision has succeeded in carving out a position of excellence among the brands in the sector and confirming a strong and constant growth in turnover in recent years.
