Milan-based studio Archventil transforms an office space into a residential loft, in an ode to industrial elegance and functional design.
The office has disappeared, and in its place is a modern and spacious loft, lit by skylight windows and enhanced by a mezzanine accessible via an industrial-style staircase.
The entrance hall welcomes guests with a built-in coat rack, while a corridor leads to a large kitchen-living area, where natural light filters through skylights.
The open space is dominated by a kitchen characterised by black and white accents that blend harmoniously together. The central island, with rattan stools that add a touch of warmth, becomes the visual focus of the room, while the dining area enjoys ambient lighting, becoming a functional and fascinating space.
To meet the clients’ needs, Archventil has recreated a creative home office in the mezzanine, offering a private space with a desk, bookcase and a small sofa. Under the staircase, on the other hand, is the living area: almost an alcove which, thanks to the large sofa, becomes a cosy retreat.
The choice of colours in the flat, predominantly black and white with touches of neutral tones, embraces the industrial atmosphere, while the green of the plants invades the space to bring into the home the sense of well-being that nature instils.
The bathroom, on the other hand, is built on the vibrant tones of terrazzo cladding and coloured paint. Wood, present in the furniture and decoration, offers a soft contrast. The shower is enhanced by a practical niche.
In the sleeping area the choice is on pastel colours, for an intimate and relaxing atmosphere, with minimal accents such as in the finishes of the lamps and furniture, which give importance to details.
