LA STANZA SENZA FINESTRE: disegni per DORA. A project of Medit and WIP FOR PEOPLE Onlus

“LA STANZA SENZA FINESTRE: disegni per DORA” is a charity project that Medit devised in collaboration with Caimi Brevetti and WIP FOR PEOPLE Onlus, involving 18 of Milan’s most important architecture firms with the aim of creating 18 pro bono works, which were then printed on soundproof panels. The initiative gave rise to an exhibition in the heart of the Biblioteca degli Alberi (Library of Trees) in Milan, an exceptional city park surrounded by extraordinary architecture, which was followed by a private auction to support the WIP FOR PEOPLE Onlus project for the realisation of DORA: an all-inclusive centre in a small village in Madagascar with a school and a kindergarten that will host about 120 children, guaranteeing them an education; an infirmary for anyone in need of basic medical care; and a canteen that will guarantee meals to the community.

18 architects who represent a large part of the development of Milan and many other cities in the world have each been involved as the creators of their own “ROOM”, in a project of solidarity and exchange. “LA STANZA SENZA FINESTRE” represents the idea of a free space, without visual barriers, where architecture, dreams and nature come together. The eighteen author visions explore this theme through free technique drawings, abstract or concrete works, without any limits. The originals on paper will be displayed in an exhibition at the ADI Design Museum in Milan in February 2025.
