Design Shooting is the format promoted by IDEAL STANDARD with the aim of telling the story of contemporary architecture sites through a photographic exhibition. The new edition of the exhibition will take place in Naples at the Made in Cloister | Contemporary Art Foundation, from 10 to 25 October 2024 and will gather the photographs resulting from the dialogue between 16 photographers and 16 local architecture studios.
Created to coincide with the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Design Shooting is now in its fourth edition, continuing its journey through Italian cities, recounting architecture from a unique perspective. After Bari, this year’s autumn stage has in fact landed in Naples, in parallel with the EDIT event.
Design Shooting is a cultural initiative conceived and promoted by Ideal Standard in collaboration with TOWANT. Each edition takes the form of a new photographic exhibition that explores contemporary architecture with an original and artistic gaze, stimulating the relationship and creative exchange between architecture and photography.
16 photographers in collaboration with as many local design studios, protagonists of the Neapolitan architectural scene, have created a unique work inspired by one of the building sites of the studio they have been associated with, offering a personal interpretation of the architectural project and the ideas that guided its development.
The exhibition ‘Design Shooting Napoli’ is hosted in the fascinating spaces of the Made in Cloister Foundation, inside the former convent of Santa Caterina a Formiello, in the characteristic and historical Neapolitan quarter of Porta Capuana. This evocative setting will provide an exceptional setting for the 16 photographs on display, which can also be collected by visitors in postcard format.
As in past editions, interaction with the public is a key element of the event: for the entire duration of the exhibition, it will in fact be possible to vote for one’s favourite photograph by means of a QR Code located in the hall or by visiting the landing page www.designshooting.com. The three most voted images, together with one selected by the organisers, will compete for the final victory.
