Furniture trends in the hospitality and office world will be the stars of HostMilano, which returns to fieramilano in Rho from 13 to 17 October. The world’s leading professional hospitality event will open with more than 1,800 exhibitors from 50 countries and hundreds of scheduled events, including the Smart Label – Host Innovation Award, the recognition promoted by HostMilano and Fiera Milano in partnership with POLI.design and sponsored by ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Industrial Design Association).
Looking forward to the five-day event, HostMilano takes stock of the evolution of the contract sector that aims to make the stay in a given environment as pleasant as possible.
Attention to comfort and aesthetics in the furnishing and contract sector will be central during the next edition of HostMIlano, which confirms itself as the appointment par excellence for the Ho.Re.Ca. and Retail sectors, dealing with every detail from the accessory to the turnkey project, with efficient and at the same time aesthetically pleasing proposals for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
There will be many themes addressed by the event: fundamental will be the analysis of design and furnishing trends for the sector, always keeping a great attention to sustainability. Several companies involved are already committed to this in the production phase, for example, to introducing new washing systems for the painting department, eliminating the disposal of sludge and reducing CO2 emissions. Furthermore, at the packaging level, there is a decrease in the use of plastics in favour of cardboard. Modular outdoor stools, tables and partitions, characterised by an attractive design and super comfort, are made with post-consumer plastic in factories that only use electricity from renewable sources, for an outdoor proposal of high aesthetic value and eco-friendly design.
At HostMilano, innovation also involves special aspects such as wall coverings. Wallpaper is a transversal solution, an element in continuous evolution both from a technical and creative point of view where, for some time now, Made in Italy has been making a difference in the world. Thanks to technological and experimental innovations, it has also become a technical material: it is now possible to cover surfaces with a product with a sound-absorbing function.
The novelty of the 2023 edition will be the particular focus on the world of workspaces, to outline offices that look to the future, inclusive and sustainable, but above all where you can feel better than at home. With vegetable gardens and roof gardens, refreshment points and cafés, relaxation and play areas, colourful, warm, in a word: liveable. The difficulties in finding qualified personnel in all sectors – starting with hospitality, but not only – is certainly playing a role in this new wave of workspace organisation and design. HostMilano, thanks to its ‘antennae’ all over the world, has tracked down the trends of the moment, outlining as pejorative factors, for example, the use of partition walls in plastic materials and neutral colours, relaxation areas not separated from meeting or work spaces, and break and refreshment areas that are not inclusive or not adequately equipped. Improvement factors include, on the other hand, the use of ecological and eco-friendly materials that create protected work nests, the design of green spaces, acoustically insulated relaxation areas and comfortable refreshment stations that respect ethical diets and intolerances.
HostMilano is at fieramilano Rho from 13 to 17 October 2023.
