Herman Miller Bay Work Pod

Bay Work Pod is the new solution presented by Herman Miller for creating inclusive workstation and video conferencing spaces in office settings. Inclusiveness, concentration and comfort are at the heart of this new proposal from the brand, which is the ideal choice for open-plan workstations and large spaces to guarantee maximum practicality both for focused solo work sessions where silence and concentration are particularly important and for video calls and online work meetings.
Bay Work Pod is available in two different sizes: the Pro version offers more space and is also accessible for people with disabilities. In fact, it is designed to provide the necessary space to manoeuvre a wheelchair and can be installed at the same level as the floor so as not to create thresholds or barriers to entry. Bay Work Pod is therefore a product that makes workspaces not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional, ergonomic and inclusive.

The interior features elements that enhance the working experience, such as optimised lighting, customisable background colour and a discrete fan to provide air circulation. The capsule cover has been designed to allow external light to filter through while ensuring maximum privacy and a quiet workstation. Both versions of the Bay Work Pod can be combined with all the comforts that support people in their work, such as ergonomic seating from the entire Herman Miller range, a panel for powering electronic devices, monitor arms, and bag hooks that can be added as desired to add extra convenience to the workstation.

Bay Work Pod aims to address the frequently painful experience of phone booth-style videoconferencing,” says Noah Schwarz, Vice President of Product Design for Herman Miller. “Rather than suffer perched atop an ill-conceived stool or bench, Bay allows you to select any ergonomic chair you’d like.” Further customisations that can be implemented in the booth include occupancy indicator and the option of a frosted glass door and ceiling to ensure maximum privacy and concentration.

The rounded corners and corrugated fabric exterior are a great innovation compared to most office cubicles and fulfil a dual function, providing an attractive appearance while reducing noise pollution, both inside and outside the cubicle. Available in a wide variety, exterior wall coverings feature a colour palette that can match both a neutral style and more vibrant, colourful environments. Multiple surface finish options allow for customised interior styling to enhance and complement existing furnishings.
