The Haus der Höfe in Bonn is a modern building in the immediate vicinity of the Museum Mile and the UN campus. The approximately 7,900 square metre space brings together different realities and provides office space for the service sector.
PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING was involved in the lighting of the interior and office spaces, providing glare-free workplace lighting in compliance with DIN EN 12464-1, specifically designed to improve office living conditions. The project includes SL629 PL pendants, either single luminaires or installed in continuous rows, equipped with a micro-prism diffuser for efficient light diffusion, minimised glare and high uniformity. DL ROUND ceiling recessed luminaires for general room lighting complete the installation.
The building’s glass walls not only provide the necessary acoustic protection from the nearby railway line, but also demarcate the inner courtyards, clearly organising the semi-public space in front of each section of the building as a reception and representative area. The Haus der Höfe is the first building one encounters when arriving at the ‘Bonn-UN Campus’ railway station and travelling in the direction of the city centre, making it the ‘gateway to the federal district’ nationwide.
