GENOA DESIGN TALKS: design speaks Genoese

The Secret Garden Association, the magazine Platform Architecture & Design and ADI- Association for Industrial Design – are organising a four-day design culture event in Genoa from 18 to 21 May 2022.

The programme envisages four evenings dedicated to light dialogues on design and the arts, a dynamic, varied and concrete approach to the various expressions of human creativity, with a particular focus on the territorial reality. Because design has always accompanied our evolution: inventions, patents, adaptations and ingenious ideas. Micro-revolutions that have changed society and become symbols of style.

The Genova Design Talks, scheduled from 18 to 21 May 2022 in Genoa, in simultaneous with the Genova BeDesign Week 2022, open to architects, designers and planners, will attempt to deepen the link between design and its multiple cultural expressions, and will feature Fernando Correa (founder of the WAW COLLECTION brand), Stefania Toro (Associazione Disegno Industriale Liguria), Giorgia Brusemini (designer, TV presenter and Italian ambassador of the international Women in Light project), Fabio Filiberti (Associazione Disegno Industriale Liguria), Luciano Galimberti (President of ADI and President ADI Design Museum), Carlo Piano (Renzo Piano’s son and author of the books Atlantide and Il Cantiere di Berto), Margherita Pellino (President of the Vico Magistretti Foundation), Simona Finessi (Platform Director), Andrea Castanini (deputy editor of Il Secolo XIX).

The Secret Garden in Via Cairoli is an unexpected place, an immersion in nature that becomes the setting for the multi-sensory installation of WAW COLLECTION with the multi-award-winning BE WATER Lamp, designed by Fernando Correa. The BE WATER Lamp is a kinetic, linear and modular decorative lamp that reproduces a continuous, relaxing and hypnotic effect, designed to emulate sunlight that reflecting off the surface of the moving water, projects optical effects and dances of light on light on walls, keels of ships and bridges. The installation reproduces a simulation of the horizon on the sea by means of a mirror that doubles the light emitted by the lamp.

The format of the evening therefore proposes, in addition to the opportunity to visit the light installation, the chance to taste a cocktail prepared with great care by Fokaccia, to actively participate in Design Talks with prestigious speakers in a unique space furnished with design elements provided by Progetti Arredamenti. In addition, architects who attend will be awarded a training credit for each evening to be obtained through self-certification on the appropriate platform.
