“Il Tornabuoni” is a new 5-star hotel that overlooks the shopping street in the heart of Florence’s historic centre, just a few steps from the Arno river and Ponte Vecchio. The strategic location and the care taken over the interiors have aimed to welcome an international clientele that wants to immerse itself in Italian history. Andrea Auletta Interiors studio was responsible for the design of the hotel in all its elements, from the distribution to the furnishing details. The hotel has 62 rooms with three different catering offers. On the ground floor is the ‘IL Magnifico Restaurant & Bistrot’, whose name is a tribute to the Tuscan gastronomic tradition. In the common areas of the ground floor, the pietra serena stone gives a touch of historical Florentine atmosphere, evoking the lights and shadows of an elegant palace, without betraying the original structure of the building.
The leather of the seats evokes refined atmospheres with a touch of nature, the harmony of greys and beiges contributes to relaxation and induces the play of memory. In the alternation of daylight and night lighting, the dehors on the ground floor proposes the same harmonies as the interior space, creating a cosy and intimate environment also outside, where the heraldic green of the curtains adds a touch of refinement and comfort. The rooms are proposed in harmonies of different colours on each floor: orange, peacock, grey, blue and yellow give a note of personality to each room, while the bathrooms, with their massive organisation of space, recall suggestions of ancient baths and historical memories. On the fourth floor is the Butterfly Terrace and the ‘Lucie’ restaurant, which combines international flavours with a pleasantly experimental approach. The restaurant boldly combines pink and peacock, but here, these antagonistic colours dialogue with grace and elegance to create, together with the comfortable seating and complicit sofas, a hospitable space that prepares for the refined ritual of conviviality.
“Il Magnifico Café & Champagne” bar on the ground floor is off the beaten track, but nonetheless captivating, providing a touch of originality for those who wish to rest their palate on the powerful Supertuscan wines with the bubbles of champagne. The hotel is characterised in its areas by the originality of the decorative elements and other surprising and singular details, evocative of a peaceful and stylised nature, from stone to butterflies in flight, which envelops you in comfort and a respected and light historicity. LA CAVE, on the minus one floor, is the hotel’s wine cellar and boasts a fine collection of bottles of Italian wines and French champagnes. The space is available and particularly suitable for private events, candlelit dinners and wine testing. A hotel with an enveloping atmosphere given by the colour tones and furnishings that recall a stately era crystallised in time.
